We celebrate malt whisky.

In good taste, the Queensland Malt Whisky Society is a non-profit, volunteer-run private membership club dedicated to the discerning appreciation and consumption of fine malt whiskies. Membership is invited from ladies and gentlemen who enjoy the craftsmanship of our world’s great distillers. Whether well-versed in the lexicon of whisky, or otherwise possessing an enquiring mind and adventurous soul in search of new learning and experiences, we welcome you to our society.

We drink for quality not quantity. Our rather informal meetings are characterised by lively conversations where conjecture provides inspiration, and knowledge offers conclusive insights into the world of whisky.  A honeyed nose and a lingering finish are oft discussed, as our olfactory and gustatory perceptions traverse the subtle and not-so-subtle flavours of chill (or non)-filtered, smokey (and not), blended and single malt whiskies of various ages and origins.

Above all else, we are here to have fun.

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm.

A dazzling array of whiskies will be provided, and we’ll sniff, sip, taste, discuss and enjoy.

How to join

Membership is $80 per year and includes a number of benefits, including discounted monthly tastings with first opportunity to RSVP, offers of other exclusive and rare whisky tastings throughout the year, discounted tickets to the annual QLD Whisky Expo, and other special offers.
